Toronto, 30 festivals, and a few awards

Following its world premiere at the Munich Dok.Fest and its North American Premiere at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival, UPSTREAM BATTLE played at 30 festivals in Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Iceland, India, Ireland, Kosovo, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Most recently, this documentary was awarded the Grand Jury Prize in the Environmental Film category at the Santa Cruz Film Festival.

At the Dokufest in Prizren, filmmaker Ben Kempas and consulting producer Magdalena Hutter received the OSCE-sponsored Human Rights Award.

The documentary, produced by Joachim Schroeder for Preview Production, also won Best Environmental Film at a Czech festival and reached a second place in Anchorage, Alaska.

In addition, UPSTREAM BATTLE was one of four films nominated for the Al Gore Reel Current Award. The former Vice President himself watched these four documentaries.
